5Wonderful Seedlings
By Firelight
I’ve been wanting to grow one of these trees for awhile now, but CA does not allow sellers from outside CA to ship trees or seeds in. I do realize that big box stores cary them, but they come grafted and I really don’t like grafted trees. I like the joy of growing trees from seeds and cutting starts. My first order of seeds rotted in a few weeks, I contacted the seller and he sent me a new batch, (great customer service). With this new batch I plated half in the soil and half I am cold stratisfying — I realize these are citrus but a reputable book recomended doing it). Now three weeks later I’ve got a seedling. I should have more comming too, but if not that is okay. The seller warned me that this variety of citrus is hard to start. I think he is right, but it is not impossible and deffinitly worth the try; yey little tree.

Update 12/19/2011 — I placed most of the seedlings on top of my heater and now 10 of the 15 I ordered have come up. I have since moved them to a sunny location and they are growing well. Some came up with only one plant her seed but at least 4 have come up polystic. Very cool.

Update 2/26/12 — seedlings growing well, I lost about 10 do to me leaving them out on a cold day, but the three I still have are growing very well, about 2 1/2″ to 3″ tall now.

4So far so good
By Gregory S. Young
I planted two seeds in one pot with the hopes of them both germinating and then transferring the second seed to another pot. Only got one to come up though so I guess that makes for 50% germination. The one that I have is doing fine so far… I still have three more just in case.
